New to the Crested Butte area? Want to meet other bikers? Interested in learning a bit about how our trail system came into existence, and our plans for the future? Join us for a CBMBA Newcomer’s Ride!
This group ride will meet at the Chamber of Commerce at 6th and Elk Ave (the “4-way”). Please be ready to ride at 5pm, so arrive early if you need to pump tires, etc.
From the 4-way, we’ll head up the Rec Path, ride Lupine 1 and 2, and return to CB via the Lower Loop network. This ride is approx. 12.5 miles total. We will stop several times along the way to tell you a few stories about how these trails came into existence, and you can ask any questions you’d like about biking, trails, land conservation, etiquette, public access, and our organization. Any mountain bikers new to town are encouraged to join us! You can branch off on your own if you aren’t able to join for the entire ride.
Ability: This is not a competitive or technical ride, but it is not a “Learn To Ride” event, either. All participants should be comfortable on mountain bike trails and be capable of riding these trails. Please ensure that your bike is in working condition prior to the ride, and that you have food and snacks, and are able to fix your own flat tire if necessary (of course, we’re happy to help, too!)
Please send a quick email to Lauren at development@cbmba.org if you plan to attend.
