User compacted

User compacted – sees much use, and great for fat bikes after all this use!  Also the means and way to get to Teddy’s Winter Trail. Great riding, some uphill to be done, but hey, that makes for fun downhilling! Can often ride all the way to the top of the road for a 3 mi climb and nearly 1500’ vert.
Connect w N. Village, Teddys, and Gothic for a monster ride!!!

Park at N. Village to avoid the crowds at the Snodgrass trailhead.

User compacted

Not currently being groomed but is user compacted.

Groomed by CB Nordic, open to bikes, but please stay on the rec path trail fat bikes are not allowed on the other trail in this area.

Not yet groomed

Not normally maintained, but sometimes user compacted.  Stick with the Town Ranch loops for the formal access – open to fat bikes, but groomed by CB Nordic.  Fat bikes allowed on Town Ranch and the Riverbend groomed trails to access Brush Creek – best way to get to the Golf Course and out Brush Creek.

User compacted

Groomed by Crested Butte Nordic Center

Do not leave trail: you’ll be trespassing on private property and that could compromise access for ALL users. The CBG Trails Winter Layer can help.

12/11/20: Fresh snow on the ground, and more to come. Might end the riding on these trails.

Groomed by SNOtrackers

Groomed regularly by the good peeps at SNOtrackers – a well used motorized corridor, but also sees great grooming that makes for good fatty’ing, or cross country skiing.  But be aware, weekends and busy seasons see high motorized use to whom advocates for and maintains the area.

If you’re going crust riding, be sure to know your property boundaries to avoid trespassing! The CBG Trails Winter Layer can help.

Be sure to check with the CBAC about avalanche conditions! Proceed with caution. Be safe out there!

Hartman Rocks is an amazing place to fat bike! – for more info, check out the Gunnison Trails Grooming Report.

Some of these trails are groomed by CBMBA or Gunnison Trails specifically for fat biking. Some are groomed by other organizations, like CB Nordic or Gunnison Sno-Trackers, but you can still fat bike on them. Others are just user compacted.
