Trail Report

CLOSED for Season

10/23/17 – Baxters will close for the season on Oct 31, and currently it’s only open as out and back to the first creek crossing.  At that, it’s still holding snow, but that first bit to the creek may be doable in another day.

6/9/17 – Small wet spots, but the CBCC cut it out yesterday – good to go!

6/26/17  – CBCC cut it all out last week, remaining snow is melting – she’s good to go!

5/30/17 – Riding as an ‘out and back’, there is still snow once on the West Side trail at CBMR, so no loop options.

6/9/17 – Upper Lower – good to go.  Lower Lower – good to go but some water still on trail – remember to ride through it – not around it.  KB Connector – NO GO!  Mad water – not ready.  Budd Trail also good to go. PLEASE don’t braid the trail – if water or mud, please walk/ride through it.  Stay on the trail instead of creating resource damage.

Good To Go

5/29/17 – PLEASE Folks… NO Parking, not even Shuttling to the Lupine 1 start – you must hike or bike into Saddle Ridge.  And parking along Gothic Road – also not a good option.  Do the right thing – access only via muscle power!

Good To Go

May 15 – Good to go!

May 15 – dig it – she’s riding great.  Great loop with Tony’s, Upper Loop, and Bridges.

5/30/17 – Good to go – usual water near the end.

Reminder – Elkton (the old mining town/area right there at the base of 403 is private property.  Please stay on the trail, don’t trespass, don’t damage or markup historic artifacts, and don’t remove anything from the old mines and properties.  The future of this trail access depends on it.

CLOSED for Season

SNODGRASS CLOSURE – Sunday, August 13th – Sundown. That means after dark on Sunday – no mas bikes, no mas hikers – no mas perros, y no mas gatos. Bottom line – please respect the closure. You can indeed ride Teddy’s trail and stay to the North/East of the actual closure, but please heed the signs. We treasure our partnerships and trail access with the ranching community. Doing the right thing helps us maintain those opportunities.

7/16/17 – The CBCC was out there yesterday, and despite the snow plug on Gothic Road still, the whole loop is good to go.   Do tread lightly, it’s sensitive terrain and more bike riding – less shuttling is key for sustainable future of this pristine area and trail.  Lots of folks out there too, so remember to protect the image of our sport and be respectful of other users.  Mountain Express does provide free shuttles from Town and Mt. CB to Judd Falls – a great way to have less impact!

TRAIL CLOSURE March 15, 2018 – May 25, 2018 for Winter game habitat!!!! Mad Bighorn’s up in there! Dr. Park trail exit is in the middle of a campground on Taylor Park Road.  Please be cautious of campers, camp speed limits, – etc.   It’s easy to want to continue to fly through there like you just were on the trail, but it’s sketchy for campers and the camp host. Please keep it at 5mph in there, just like cars.
