Death Pass #409.1a

Cutting off the mighty climb between the 409/Farris Creek Trail and Middle Brush Creek Road (Pearl Pass/#400), Death Pass is a very exposed and steep hillside with a ‘bench cut’ trail across it that requires regular maintenance.  Super fun, and with some great rock work and trail reinforcement over the years, it still needs annual loving to keep a useable bench cut trail.  It is exposed, and a fall could be very, very detrimental.  In the winter, avalanches here have taken lives.
