4/8 – If you go crust ride here, go early and stay on the trail. Do not leave trail: you’ll be trespassing on private property and that could compromise access for ALL users. The CBG Trails Winter Layer can help.
The Rec Path is groomed by CB Nordic for cross-country skiing, walking, and fat bikes. Dogs are allowed on a leash. This trail offers spectacular views of the Valley. The first part of the Rec Path, nearest to town, is flat, then as you head North the trail starts a steady uphill climb until it approaches Mt. Crested Butte. You can use the Rec Path to make a loop by post-holing up to Gothic Road and coming down the pavement, or keep on riding uphill to get to the Gothic/Snodgrass Trailhead. Otherwise, the Rec Path is a great out-and-back, so just turn around when you’re ready!
