Description

The Rec Path is groomed by CB Nordic for cross-country skiing, walking, and fat bikes. Dogs are allowed on a leash. This trail offers spectacular views of the Valley. The first part of the Rec Path, nearest to town, is flat, then as you head North the trail starts a steady uphill climb until it approaches Mt. Crested Butte. The Rec Path rides best as an out and back, but when the conditions are right you can ride beyond where it is groomed and take it all the way to the Gothic/Snodgrass Trailhead.

Use the TrailForks winter layer for a complete map of Crested Buttes fat bike trails.

Check out CB Nordic’s Real Time Grooming Report for up-to-date status reports.

Please do not ride fat bikes on any of the other trails intersecting the Rec Path. These are paid trails where fat biking is not allowed.
