4/8 – If you go crust ride here, go early and stay on the trail. Follow the bamboo line. Once we pull the ‘boo, no more riding on this private land. The CBG Trails Winter Layer can help.
Now it’s the ‘Psychedelic Woolly Mammoth’. Just below the Snodgrass Trailhead at the end of Gothic Road (FS #317), and under the flank of Snodgrass is North Village in Mt. Crested Butte. Along with this area as a staple of the Fat Bike Worlds venues, it’s groomed specifically by CBMBA for fat biking. It’s fun, flowy, and this year there’s a bunch of opportunity for loops and figure 8’s, along with new connections to the other groomed trails in the area, Teddy’s Winter Trail, Gothic Road, and Snodgrass Road. Loops for all abilities, and some good climbing if you want it! Ride the Rec. Path up from Town for a sweet real deal ride, or tack on CBMR trails (after or before hours only) to really get a network going.
PARKING: You can park right at N. Village, just below the Snodgrass Trailhead, look for the Fantasy Ranch stable/corral. It’s a pullout just off Gothic Road on the West side, and the track starts right there.
