Description

Slate River Road is a well used corridor for backcountry skiing access, and sees regular use via snowshoers, skiers, snowmobiles, dogs, walkers, etc. The trailhead is almost 3 miles up the road. It’s a fun out and back into some beautiful country with a gentle upward grade to Pittsburg, then turns up towards Paradise. It’s 4 miles to Pittsburg, so 8 miles round trip.  At this point it gets pretty steep and into avalanche country and is not so much a Fat Bike destination. Beginner to Intermediate
